During your stay on the Gili islands or in Lombok (Senggigi, Pantai Sire…), you can do a snorkeling trips around the Gili islands.
The snorkeling there is famous for :
- The Nest (underwater statues)
- Artificial reef with old scooters
- many fishes, coral reef
- and of course the turtles
This post and video is only about the Nest and the scooters artificial reef.

The Nest
Near the west coast of Gili Meno, there is the Nest.
It is an underwater sculpture made by Jason de Caires Taylor.
The depth is 4 meters, so it is easy to swim above this underwater sculpture.
The underwater scooters
At the south-east of Gili Trawangan, there is an artificial reef made with old scooters.
The reef is in shallow water, 3-4 meters.
